Tiger Alphabet

OI've been working on variations of this for a while, but finally found an option that I'm happy with.

It is taking a while to fix the first cut at digitizing to make sure there are no jump stitches between the black stripes.

I have the basic digitizing done on all the capital letters.   So I still need to add all the connecting stitches as shown in the first "A" picture above and then test them all out.

When you use an alphabet like this one, do you want lowercase, numbers or punctuation or just the capital letters?

One colour version

You can download the X and try it for free on my Craftsy store.  The rest of the alphabet is available to buy in PES, HUS, VIP or JEF formats.

I know everyone likes freebies - but just remember that this represents HOURS of my time.

Progressing on my Alphabets

I was a little busy last week so ignored my poor lonely machine.  No progress on my pillow stuffies or on my alphabets.

Yesterday I managed to find lots of time to play with the machine.  I decided to finish testing my Block Floral Alphabet.  Here are the results:

I had just finished uploading a free trial letter (actually 2 letters - the upper and lower case E) to my craftsy store when I decided to move my laptop to the living room so I could finish zipping and uploading the rest of the alphabet to the craftsy store while watching all the good Sunday night PBS shows.

Alas when I got to the living room I noticed that there was something majorly wrong with the hinge on my laptop.   All thoughts of uploading the designs went out the window and instead I started a backup.

Luckily all the machine needed was the screws tightening - but that was a little scary!  I managed to get PES versions on my store last night - but haven't added any other formats yet.

Fast forward to today - I started testing my Broadway Applique alphabet  which I finished my first cut at digitizing yesterday.   The thread kept breaking so I decided to clean out the bobbin casing - while putting it back together, I managed to totally mess up the machine - not sure what I did, but decided to take it apart again, double check and watch carefully as I put things back.   Was careful about testing (tried some simple sewing before using the embroidery part of the machine) and everything was working great.   I'm hoping that machine problems don't come in threes!

I decided to stop for lunch - realized that I hadn't opened my fortune cookie from our take out last night.  How appropriate...

The first hoop of test letters - 2 of them needed slight fixes to change the order of stitches and the S had issues - but those were related to all my maintenance on my machine and not being careful about how I restarted the embroidery ... but here's the result

I noticed that the material I was using for the applique - would go well with lots of different colours of thread so decided to try some different threads to see what the effect would be.

I'm happy with the results so far.  I still need to test the rest of the upper case letters, all of the lowercase letters, the numbers, and a select few punctuation that I decided to digitize.
